Prashant Bhushan 2020
Prashant Bhushan, renowned for his outstanding contributions to
the legal community, tweeted two comments about how the courts
administer justice and CJI SA Bobde. The Supreme Court (in
general) and the CJI's office (in particular) could lose their
respectability and authority in the eyes of the general public as a
result of the mentioned tweets, according to the Courts initial
assessment. The Court approved the suo moto contempt case
against him as a result.
Vijay Kurle and others
Vijay Kurle, Rashid Khan Pathan, and Nilesh Ojha wrote two letters
to CJI Ranjan Gogoi on March 19 and 20, respectively. Scandalous
accusations were made against Justices RF Nariman and Vineet
Saran. It was noted that the mentioned letters present extremely
scandalous and scurrilous accusations against the judges and that
such accusations cannot be leveled against judges and the courts.
